One board member was on the investment committee of Dubai world and Dubai holdings unloading their assets. Another expat board member had actually built and managed the ski slope at the Emirerates Mall in Dubai. These were sharp cookies. A board meeting had brought me back to Dubai. We were excited about our efforts.
The news hit Maktoob hard. 11 identified images in the paper showed operatives that allegedly tasered a Hamas operative that consequently was strangled at Al Bustan Rotana hotel by the Dubai airport. The 6 British, 3 Irish, one Dutch and one French alleged spies were shortly exposed having fwke passport.
Daily news harbored on the Dubai stigma thatnthis occurred in their pirate city.
I can imagine how the Emirati were upset. This was the most open Gulf Cooperation Council country in the Middle East North Africa region. More expats were in Dubai than all expats combined in Saudi Arabia and Egypt that had 80 million more inhabitants.
The rumor is that UAE and Dubai specifically is the modern day Pirate port of the world. And you don't defecate in your own backyard. Allegedly the Israelis were now targeted to have done so with the this Hamas execution.
Of course the inept Dubai police chief was quoted and pointed blame at the Israelis. All the nations sympathy retorted with "these were fake passports". Yet the photos published in color in magazines showed all the culprits in their naked colors.
Was this as avertly claimed the Israeli mossad at the making? Most certainly. Yet again proof was lacking. Even in a move disheartening to the Arabs, England issued 5 new passports to the expats living in Israeli whom names had been used. Hello! Where is passport controls useful unless we are purely looking to catch morons and drunkards at the borders. Home lanc security? Blow me, its a joke in the UAE. Why don't they implement face recognition solutions we have suggested to them and England already implemented. Bullocks. Excuses and self victimisation. I wont tolerate it. Shut up!
This was the third organized murder ins few months in Dubai. A tjechnian leader was shot down at broad day light prior to this at JBR (Jumeirah beach residents area ) A Russian drug dealer had his throat cut at the 7 star Burj Al Arab notel / intended casino.
Sheikh Maktoum built the Casino on a man made island off the beach in Dubai. Reliable contacts of mine tell me the former Ruler told his son Maktoum that it may not be a good idea. That was in respect enough for the current ruler to rebrand the Casino to a hotel.
So back the Pirate City of the world. This was the fantasy of all crime and dairy tales. The safe haven of crime and criminals. Did you know that the northern drug money from cocaine and opium all conceded in Dubai! Real estate rocketed from cash buyers in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran - Northern Middle East. All the fmworld drug money flowed to Dubai. It bought condos in cash. Then resold it with with receipt and voila - you had clean money from drugs. How easy and how efficient it was.
In addition all covert and illicit crime families from the region flocked here. The kingpins lived and visited undisturbed. More hookers than anywhere in the world would daily fly in from mainly East Europe. It is a safe haven. Criminals had a Vacation home. They lived with impunity next to the Emiraties.
A few years ago the Emirati dispelled the growing Russian mob. The prostitutes started selling real estate at one point rue to the booming market. Now Dubai has 10000 empty apartments and more being finished. Now control was back without many Russians in power.
I experienced the opulence a few times in Dubai. Once was personzlly meeting the Ras Al Kaimah ruler at his palace - one of 7 rulers of 7 kingdoms in the UAE.
Most recently at the private leisure house of a minister.
We had dinner invitations at his private 10000 sf house. 3 gay philippinos ran the house hold all 50 windows were covered in the house. The receiving room had a DJ booth sbd the minister entertained two pprostitutes. One was Jordanian and the hot one was Maroccon.
Dinner was fabulous. The wine was plentiful. The girls were exceptional and world travelled. How in heavens name was I able to be invited? This was the cynosure of middle East power and secret society. Power through cash gives you illicit priviledges
How about that. This was the Las Vegas of Eastern money without casinos. This was the gateway for northern Middle East. I was now extending their reach to the US through our funds. Let's the games commence.
